Book Club Classics Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury***: I have read this book 4 times in my life, and I get something new out of it each time I read it. This is a total departure for Ray Bradbury, who typically is known for Sci-fi stuff. This book is a gentle, beautiful descriptive story about a boy coming of age in a Midwest town and all the characters that live there. It is a loss of innocence story, and a treasure for anyone who has ever been 12 years old and thought riding your bike on hot summer days was the most freedom you could ever want or need. |
SOME FAVORITE CLASSICS Madame Bovary by Gustav Flaubert: Excellent book. Passionate, sad lovely. Villette by Charlotte Bronte: ANY Bronte book is golden with me. I especially liked this one. Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy: This is a sad book, but a can't put down book. High passion, love, betrayal, a true Hardy book.
