Ingredients:
1 lb. Ground turkey
2 Tblsp Olive Oil
1 packet of dried Ranch dressing seasoning
2 Tblsp Milk
1 package Feta cheese, block form (optional)
condiments on hand; lettuce, tomatoes, onions etc. |
Directions:
Mix with your hands the turkey with seasoning, milk and olive oil. Form into patties about 4 inches in diameter, keeping in mind these shrink considerably after cooking. Grill on a hot grill about 5 minutes on each side. Add your favorite toppings with some fresh rolls.
Feta Option: As forming patties, take half of what you would normally use for a whole pattie. flatten it with your palm, and add a 1/4 slice of feta cheese in the middle, then take another portion of turkey mixture, and form the top, creating a whole, sealed round pattie Form the mixture up and around the sides so no feta shows along the edge. Cook as normal. If you don't like this cheese, experiment with others. This idea came from the Athenos.com website, where they use this same technique with beef burgers, and it is delicious.
A nice addition to this also - take half a red and half a green bell pepper and cut into 1/4 " strips with desired amount of onion cut into same size strips. Put 1 to 2 Tblsp of olive oil in a 12" skillet and saute til soft. use to garnish burgers. yum!
